Location
Mediations are generally conducted by video-conference unless otherwise requested by the parties. For those who have a strong preference for in-person mediation or feel it is critical in a particular case, in-person mediation is available upon request. No additional fee for travel is charged for mediations that occur in Los Angeles County.
Fees
A flat daily rate is charged for all mediations. The daily rate varies depending on the number of parties and the type of case. No travel is charged for cases mediated in Los Angeles County or via Zoom. Please contact Claire Hoxie at choxie@firstmediation.com for rate information.
Mediation dates can be rescheduled up until 45 days prior to the scheduled mediation.
Briefs
Parties are asked to submit mediation briefs limited to 15 pages, excluding exhibits, unless either party believes strongly it is necessary to deviate from this practice. Briefs should be submitted one week prior to the scheduled mediation. Please email the briefs directly to tagore@momentumadr.com and choxie@firstmediation.com.
Attorneys are encouraged to submit an executive summary with their mediation briefs. The executive summary is particularly useful where a party elects to submit a mediation brief in excess of 15 pages, or where extenuating circumstances cause the brief to be submitted after the submission deadline.
